Möbius

2019 - Paris

For the realisation of his "meridian sculpture" Möbius, the artist Sebastian Brajkovic approached the Brazet House in order to carry out the work of the traditional upholsterer. The making of the trimmings according to the cabinetwork makes it possible to obtain the harmony of the whole imagined by the designer.

Empire Stool

November 2019 - Paris

Restoration of an Empire stool, covered with a sapphire-coloured satin edged lampas from the house of Prelle, bordered with Empire milled fringe and 4 mm guipure cable, manufactured by Declercq passementiers, hand-sewn at the edge of the trim.


Chauffeuse ALB

October 2019 - Paris

Original creation by Maison Brazet of a chauffeuse entirely covered with a wool sheet. Its design is intended for places that can be cramped such as dressing rooms, entrances or at the corner of a living room or even in the privacy of a bedroom providing a cosy atmosphere.


The blue bedroom

June 2019 - France

Complete renovation of a bedroom for a charming house in the countryside. To restore height to a room under the roof, this bed decoration consists of a small circular canopy, curtains, drapes and a bedspread made of different materials in harmony, silk, linen and cotton creating a peaceful atmosphere.

Curtains

05.2018 - Paris

Creation of a luxurious decorative border on a curtain front. This superposition with different widths and materials, allows to obtain a rich border for its decorative effect and full of contrasts by the way they take the light. A fringe is also applied in the bottom of the curtains, to sit the decorative effect of the whole.

Bergere Georges Jacob

November 17th, 2017 - Paris

Magnificent Louis XVI armchair "bergere" signed by most prominent Parisian master menuisier of neoclassical style associated with Louis XVI. Entirely restored using traditional techniques and material such as horse hair for garnishing. The lampas silk fabric "aux forgerons" motif by Tassinari et Chatel was chosen to cover the seat. It was inspired by equivalent master pieces part of the collection of Chateau de Versailles and Museum of Fines Arts, Boston.


Napoleon. Images of legends

October 7th 2017 - Arras Arts Museum

Imperial armchair at the Arras Museum of Arts for the "Napoleon. Images of a legend" exhibition starting October 7th. Restored upholstery by Maison Brazet Paris. Exhibition organized with Chateau de Versailles until November 2018.


Biennale

From September 10th to 17th - Grand Palais, Paris

A pair of armchairs Louis XV from Cresson circa 1735 -1740 horseair garnishing for Galerie Steinitz Paris. To be compared to those pertaining to the collection of the Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.


Casanova

August 27, 2017 - Forth Worth Texas USA

The Toledo Museum of Art has led this pair of Venetian chairs (ca 1750) restored with this beautiful silk chased velvet to the Kimbell Art Museum for the exhibition Casanova : the seduction of Europe from August 27th 2017 to November 30th 2017.


Headboard and cushions

A white card was given to the upholsters' team to create a headboard with greige lowland fabric and Maison Lelievre purple Eloise silk damas cushions, greige lowland headboard and silk wall hanging


Salon d'honneur

In the Ladies of Honor's room, the curtains have recovered their flamboyant colors.


Shooting

February 2017 - Paris

Maison Brazet house gets into the movie industry and lends itself as decors to the actors' game, during the filming of an episode of a famous French series mixing intrigues and dramas. In this sequence shot in the workshops of Paris, trimmings and trimmings are witnesses of a turning point in the history associating the upholsterer and his staff.

Gourdin seats

For a private collector, restoration of an exceptional pair of armchairs attributed to seat carpenter Gourdin. These Gourdin seats were covered with rare handmade chased blue velvet "Marigny" from Maison Prelle, corresponding to the winter furniture decor these may have been during the XVIIIth century.


Made in Paris

September 2016 - Paris

The 2016 edition of "Made in Paris" by journalist and writer Christine Taconnet will be released in september 2016 to display the richness of the "made in Paris". The upholsterer Brazet has been selected by the journalist to represent the upholstery made in Paris.


BORNE SOFA RESTORED

April 10th, 2016 - Château de Chantilly

One of the borne sofas from the prestigious Château de Chantilly art gallery has been returned to its former glory. The Maison Brazet upholsterers spent many hours fully restoring this impressive leather circular sofa. The Château de Chantilly art gallery had not been restored since its creation in the 19th century. The project took 15 months. Take the time to (re)discover the art gallery and its masterpieces!


LABEL RENEWED

May 10th, 2016 - Paris

Maison Brazet is proud to announce the renewal of its EPV label for the next five years. The EPV label is a mark of confidence from the Ministries concerned and the Institut Supérieur des Métiers and recognition of the expertise of Maison Brazet’s upholsterers as some of the best in France.


CAMPAIGN AT THE CHÂTEAU

April 5th, 2016 - Château de Fontainebleau

The Royal Apartments at the Château de Fontainebleau have come back to life thanks to a major campaign to restore the hangings, canopies and curtains. A team made up of several Maison Brazet upholsterers worked for several days to preserve the precious materials, using specialised equipment. Visitors can once again be amazed by the splendour and finery of the decorations and furniture.


Revelations 2015

Sept. 10-13, 2015 - Grand Palais, Paris

In the continuum of the Revelations Show 2013, the Maison Brazet is taking part of the second opus exhibition taking place in the breathtaking glass vault of the Grand Palais from September 10 through 13, 2015. Maison Brazet will present its savoir-faire with a pair of exceptional creations.


Theatrics in Fontainebleau

2014 - Castle of Fontainebleau

In 2011, the Maison Brazet was commissioned by the castle with Fontainebleau to work on the conservation and restoration of the theatre built by Emperor Napoléon III. The restoration was finished in 2014, and the theater has been hosting performances since.


Revelations 2013

September 13, 2013 - At the Grand Palais, in Paris

The Maison Brazet took part in the Révélations show at the prestigious Grand Palais from September 9 through 13, 2013. Conservation techniques were presented using a Louis XV convertible armchair with paneled upholstering, following a technique developed by the Brazet workshop for the J. Paul Getty museum.

Completion of the restoration of Empress Eugénie's tearoom at the palace of Compiègne, shortly reopened to public visits after 5 years of works by several restoration teams, including the Maison Brazet.

October 2011 - Castle of Pommard

The Castle of Pommard hosted a gathering of 35 artisans, all members of the Grands Ateliers de France for a unique show. The Maison Brazet showcased its work in the prestigious confines of the Castle of Pommard.
